30 Days of Submission: Day One

A very good friend of mine is doing a journal prompt on her blog. You can find her at The Dish With Ward and June. Monster read through the questions and thought it would be a good little exercise for me to do. So here goes my thievery of a journal prompt.

Does your submission – either what you practice or what you strive for – have a label? Do you view your submission as Taken in Hand, domestic discipline, top/bottom, dominant/submissive, master/slave, owner/pet, or some other description or combination? If you do not use a label, why?

I am just going to break it down now and do it question by question.

Does your submission – either what you practice or what you strive for – have a label?

A label? I choose Monster's Minion. He's the evil genius and I carry out his nefarious plans. Okay, so really they aren't evil plots to take over the world, but I still do chores and such. But when you say nefarious, it sounds funner. Plus, that's just a fantastical word. Nefarious.

Do you view your submission as Taken in Hand, domestic discipline, top/bottom, dominant/submissive, master/slave, owner/pet, or some other description or combination?

It's a giant fruit salad of dynamics. A little of this, a little of that. He is the one who is in charge of our relationship, he makes the final decisions after we talk about all the pros, cons, and concerns. I follow his guidance because he is a smart man. A master at chess. He anticipates my moves and can plan the best strategy, what's the best move, and can see where it will all take us.

I don't label any of it past the DD/lg aspect. No matter what's happening, he is still Daddy and even though I might have to put on the big girl panties, I am still his little girl. The rest...it has a part, but never a whole. We have mixed and matched and blended what works best for us. Submissive...maybe at times, slave...a little here and there. Domestic Discipline...yeah, but it just wouldn't work well for us without it. Taken in hand...that I am. It would take all day for me to go through it all, so it's just easier to say, we are labelless rebels who have multiple dynamics crammed into one.

  1. I'm with you, labels are for soup cans - it's confining, and none of it adequately describes what we are. We are us & we are exquisitely happy :)An' I know y'all are, too. I think that's awesomesauce!

  2. I agree with this label business that you both have written about, but I have to qualify that by saying that it IS helpful to have a touchpoint of what goes and what doesn't. We are more M/s than DD and that is really important to know. (Important for me to know. For me!)

Now, if only the label I choose meant the same thing to everyone.

    1. I completey agree with you. Using labels helps when explaining your dynamics to other people. Having that starting off point for questions and such, so they at least have an idea.

When it comes to Monster and I...well...minion does work pretty well. Lol. But from a kinky stand point, his little girl works better than sub, slave, bottom, etc.
